The UIBC Select Club, created on September 9, 2022, in Reykjavik, is an initiative of the International Union of Bakers and Confectioners (UIBC) that brings together the leading names in baking and confectionary worldwide. This exclusive club recognizes excellence, promotes craftsmanship, and fosters global collaboration in the sector.

UIBC Select Club Objectives

Recognition of Excellence: Honor those who have elevated the global standards of the craft with skill, dedication, and innovation.
Promotion of Craftsmanship: Spread knowledge and techniques among professionals and enthusiasts.
Global Collaboration: Create a network to share ideas and promote associations.
Advancement of the Industry: Support initiatives to ensure sustainability and innovation.
Training and Mentorship: Inspire the next generation with guidance and educational opportunities.

Composition of the UIBC Select Club

Members are selected based on their impact on the sector:

Bakers and Confectioners of the Year: Automatically included since 2015.
UIBC Ambassadors: All active UIBC ambassadors are eligible for membership.
Jury Presidents of Competitions: All Presidents of the Jury of the UIBC International Championship.
Outstanding Nominees: Nominated by member associations and approved by the Presidium. Their inclusion requires unanimous approval from the Presidium and support from at least two-thirds of the current Select Club members. Each year, apart from the Baker and Confectioner of the Year, a maximum of 5 new members can be added. Nominees must be recognized for a significant and exceptional achievement in the craft. They must demonstrate their expertise in a video and provide proof of their merits and accomplishments in at least 4 of the following professional fields:

- International Competitions
- Publications
- Innovation
- Marketing
