The International Young Bakers Competition, launched in 1971 in Berlin, annually brings together participants from 12-14 UIBC member countries. Each nation sends two representatives, selected through its recent or previous year's national championships.
The UIBC Junior World Championship, for pastry chefs under the age of 25, showcases the future stars of pastry and promotes the profession to a wide audience. It is held every two years.
